The UK CAA is developing and applying its own UK SORA arrangements. Operators must verify the current version, transition dates and application service before relying on an EASA SORA publication.
Freeze the ConOps before assessment
Define the operational volume, adjacent areas, ground environment, airspace, UAS, crew, C2 links and normal, contingency and emergency operation before assigning risk values.
Use the UK CAA’s current method
Record the exact UK method, edition and transition arrangement used. Avoid mixing terminology or requirements from different SORA versions or from an EU member-state application process.
Link every claim to evidence
For each mitigation and operational safety objective, identify the procedure, owner, evidence reference, version and review status. Only claim measures that are implemented for the actual operation.
Recheck before submission
Confirm current UK CAA forms, fees, supporting documents and submission instructions immediately before applying, because the UK framework continues to evolve.
