What does IAA check in a drone application?
IAA assesses an application within the applicable legal framework and the specific operation. No public simple 'score list' exists that guarantees approval. Recurring quality principles are visible: applicability, consistency, demonstrability and feasibility.
Does the chosen route fit?
The described operation must fit within STS or PDRA, or be correctly assessed via SORA. Scope, UAS, environment, airspace and operational method are decisive.
Are documents consistent?
ConOps, application, risk analysis, operations manual, ERP and appendices must mention the same limits, roles, UAS and mitigations. Contradictions cause uncertainty about the actual operation requested.
Are measures demonstrable?
A promise in text is not full evidence. Link measures to procedures, training, technical documentation, maps, declarations, tests and registers. Provide concrete paragraph and appendix references.
Is the operation feasible?
Check national conditions, airspace access, location agreements, crew availability, maintenance and deviation/emergency procedures. IAA also emphasizes testing of contingency and emergency procedures.
